Mac does not produce traditional meat cleavers, though they do offer some Deba knives labeled as “cleavers”—likely due to translation differences. These are available in three sizes, with item numbers CL-40, CL-65, and CL-75. It’s important to note that these are not intended for heavy-duty bone chopping like true meat cleavers, but rather for fish and light butchery. You may also be looking at a Nakiri, which resembles a cleaver in shape but is thinner and designed primarily for slicing vegetables and boneless meats. The Nakiri comes in the Japanese Series with a traditional wa handle (JU-65), or in the Professional Series with a Western-style 3-rivet handle and bolster (MJU-65). Beware of Chinese counterfeit MAC knives often found on Amazon; for authenticity and warranty, always purchase through authorized retailers such as The Knife Merchant.
