To prevent the oak from drying out or absorbing moisture, rub the handle with a small amount of food-grade oil (such as mineral oil or olive oil) every few weeks. This preserves the natural grain and ensures a long-lasting grip. We recommend cutting board oil as it is colorless, odorless and designed to soak into the wood thoroughly and quickly.
