We don't carry Miyabi Kaizen II knives as they don't meet the Knife Merchant quality standards. We DO have the original Kaizen series which are a damascus clad VG-10 steel. But in terms of tips breaking or blade chips, these are generally not covered warranty items by any knife manufacturer. They can always be sent in for an evaluation of possible manufacturer defects. What you would be looking for is a discoloration of the steel in the area of the break, particularly if there is any rusting. It's always possible that a micro-fracture existed in the steel which was not visible. But over time, these can worsen and cause a failure.
