Grit measurments are not available in ceramics. I understand your question though and we can give a relative assessment so that you have an idea of what to expect in terms of cutting aggression. The manufacturer states approximately 1200-1800 grit. With sharpening stones, they can sieve the abrasive to a very specific particle size. For ceramics, they just texture the mold. The Idahone fine cut is about the same as every other brand of ceramic rod I've encountered that is labeled as a fine cut. There are some additional options available. Wusthof makes an extremely aggressive blue colored ceramic rod. There are also round ceramic rods with ridged and smooth sides to add a bit more bite. They are available in Mac and Master Grade Brands.
